With expansive ocean views as its backdrop, the primary bedroom called for a sense of resort-level luxury. The bed wall is wrapped wall-to-wall in vertical channel upholstery, introducing softness and visual rhythm that evokes a refined resort retreat. Custom rift oak nightstands, designed in collaboration with a cabinet maker, are seamlessly integrated into the wall, creating a harmonious union of textile and wood that elevates the entire suite.
Where the forest meets the sea. Designed in collaboration with custom woodworker Aaron Osgood, this walnut stump coffee table is finished with smoked glass to blur the boundary between indoors and out. Its form and waterfall edge were intentionally designed to mimic the kitchen island across the great room, creating continuity and balance throughout the space.

The dining table is conceived as a central gathering piece, crafted from a single, massive Claro Walnut slab milled from a salvaged tree in South Monterey County on a Rio Farms ranch in King City. Designed to comfortably seat ten, the table celebrates the scale and character of the original tree, grounding the dining space with a strong sense of material authenticity and place.
Warm walnut tones are complemented by subtle gold detailing, inspired by the way sunlight glistens across the ocean’s surface. This refined accent introduces a quiet contrast—where the richness of the forest meets the shimmer of the sea—resulting in a table that feels both sculptural and symbolic, anchoring shared moments around craftsmanship, landscape, and light.
The guest bedroom is oriented toward expansive Del Monte forest views, with the design intentionally grounded in the landscape beyond the windows. A custom bed crafted from a Claro Walnut slab—milled from a salvaged walnut tree in South Monterey County—anchors the room, bringing warmth, weight, and a sense of permanence to the space.
The color palette and materials were selected to echo the forested setting, layering natural tones and textures that feel calm and immersive. Together, the walnut slab, subdued hues, and framed views create a guest retreat that is deeply rooted in place, reflecting the quieter, forest-facing side of the property.

Aiming for a soft touch of elegance and comfort to the guest bedroom, S-Squared design team created a custom wall-mounted upholstered headboard featuring vertical velvet padded channels.
The custom headboard nicely complements the custom-built upholstered bed frame, creating a striking feature element in the room.
