Interior Design Project Manager

We are seeking a highly organized, adaptable, and positive Project Manager with an interior design background, and 3-7 years of experience as a project manager to lead the day-to-day execution of residential design projects. This role is central to ensuring an exceptional client experience while keeping projects on schedule, aligned, and running efficiently.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the design process, working closely with the Design Manager to translate creative vision into a well-executed, seamless project.

Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Communication

  • Act as the main client liaison, managing communication with clarity, warmth, and professionalism
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and follow-ups with confidence and responsiveness
  • Proactively anticipate client needs, questions, and concerns to ensure a smooth experience
  • Maintain a positive, solutions-oriented tone, even in high-pressure situations

Project Management & Execution

  • Develop, manage, and track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones
  • Coordinate closely with the Design Manager to ensure alignment between creative direction and execution
  • Keep projects on schedule by identifying risks early and pivoting quickly when needed
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously without losing attention to detail

Operations & Organization

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, notes, and client communications
  • Ensure internal team alignment and accountability across all phases of the project
  • Track project progress and flag any scope, schedule, or budget concerns
  • Continuously improve systems and workflows to support efficiency and scalability

Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of experience in interior design, project management, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the residential interior design process
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and client-facing skills
  • Proactive, positive, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

We are currently looking to hire a team member at the Project Leader level in our Architecture Studio. Permanent Right to Work/US Citizenship required.

Seeking Candidates with Experience and/or Strong Interest in High-end Custom Single Family Residential or High-end Developer/Spec Single Family Residential

Hybrid/In-Person (no remote work applications please)

Project Leader (Project Manager or Job Captain Role):

  • Support our clients and projects based on our Vision, Mission, and Core Values
  • Have excellent organizational and writing skills
  • Manage multiple tasks/projects at the same time
  • Create high-quality designs, graphics, and presentations using Firm standards
  • Lead projects of lower complexity independently
  • Support projects of medium/high complexity under the supervision of Project Leaders
  • Support the financial success of their projects
  • Have expert knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup/Layout, Enscape (VR), G-Suite, Bluebeam, & Adobe Design Suite
  • Have expert knowledge of G-Suite, Bluebeam, & Adobe Design Suite (creative purposes)
  • Lead the external communication and internal management of our projects based on our Vision, Mission, and Core Values
  • Collaborate closely with S-Squared team members + Architectural Design Director
  • Primary point of contact for clients, consultants, permitting agencies, and general contractors
  • Understand our clients’ goals and creatively solve their problems
  • Lead construction administration support for assigned projects
  • Have excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Supervise and mentor Project Support staff
  • Lead multiple projects of medium/high complexity while teaming with Firm Leaders, colleagues internal and external, and working directly with our clients
  • Lead the financial and timeline success of architectural projects using Monograph and KPIs
  • Licensure a plus, but not required
